Two Injured In Rt. 135 Accident

A West Virginia man was flown to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, Wednesday morning after the 1997 Subaru he was traveling in pulled into the path of this tractor-trailer log truck traveling east along Maryland Highway. Investigation revealed that Bonnie Susanne Twyman, 27, Hyndman, Pa., was the driver of the Subaru that was struck by the truck operated by Chad Vance, 34, Beverly, W.Va. Passenger Thomas Allen Harris, 40, Hyndman, was ejected from the vehicle and transported by medevac helicopter to the Cumberland hospital. Twyman was taken by a Tri-Towns ambulance to Garrett County Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Vance was reportedly uninjured. Garrett County sheriff's deputies are the investigating officers, and were assisted at the 9 a.m. scene by Southern Rescue Squad, Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department, Bloomington VFD, Maryland State Police, and State Highway Administration personnel. Maryland Highway was closed for approximately two and a half hours. Photo by Lyn Remley.
